June Marlowe (originally Gisella Goetten) (November 6, 1903 - March 10, 1984) was an American actress, most notable for appearing within captain hicks Our Gang short subjects as the lovely school teacher Miss Crabtree.
Marlowe, the indigene of St. Cloud, Minnesota, was a prolific actress in silent films during the 1920s, appearing in films opposite John Barrymore and Rin Tin Tin. Marlowe didn't produce an real life transport all over to talking pictures, & by 1930 was starting to drift away from acting.
By risk, she happened to meet My Gang director Robert F. McGowan one day in a Los Angeles, California department store. He was shopping for an actress to portray a school teacher in the series, & fallowing producer Hal Roach suggested that Marlowe, the brunet, get into a light-haired wig to match Jackie Cooper's hair, she got a a portion.
